Shore Jewish Academy is fully licensed by the state of New Jersey.

Shore Jewish Academy is the first Jewish preschool in the area to be certified green by the Eco-Healthy Child Care program in Washington, D.C.

Eco-Healthy Child Care (EHCC) is a national program that seeks to improve the environmental health of children by partnering with child care professionals to eliminate or reduce environmental health hazards found in child care facilities. Originally created by the Oregon Environmental Council in 2005, EHCC is now managed by both Oregon Environmental Council and Children’s Environmental Health Network, the lead partner. EHCC supports child care providers that benefit the health and wellbeing of all children in their care. By reducing exposure to toxics, the program creates healthier environments in and around child care facilities, and in doing so, it creates healthier kids.

Some of the objectives include:
– Educating child care professionals on how to provide environmentally healthy settings and services.
– Assisting in implementation of changes in practices and purchasing.

This program emphasizes solutions to common environmental health hazards and empowers providers to maximize their children’s potential.

“In line with our vision for Shore Jewish Academy to provide a high quality and cutting edge program, we are proud to join the Eco-Healthy Child Care network by offering an environment that is safe, healthy and green,” said Chani Schapiro, the school’s Director.
