Shore Jewish Academy is a creative, progressive, Reggio-inspired Jewish environment where young children receive a warm and enriching educational experience. Each child’s individual style of learning is valued and nurtured.

Our purpose is to provide the highest quality education in a secure, nurturing and stimulating atmosphere. This is achieved with our age appropriate experiential curriculum, our highly qualified staff, state-of-the-art, child centered equipment, then highest level of cleanliness and our ongoing communication with parents.

What is a Progressive Education?

Progressive education is governed by the tenets that learning is fundamentally a multisensory experience in which children are active participants and that children learn by solving problems that are real and important to them. In a progressive environment, children are involved in an integrated program rather study subjects in isolation and the focus is on the learning process rather than any single outcome. Children are given significant autonomy in the direction of their work while also discovering how to work cooperatively with others. Along with the educational values of critical thinking, curiosity, self-motivation and self-reliance, a progressive school emphasizes the social values of community, democratic citizenship, and the pursuit of equity.
